Opening June 22-Events and Programs for 2017

Highlights include “Find Your Creativity” with our simple techniques that connect art to your senses on every tour and in more depth on monthly Saturday workshops.  Cubist masterpieces will be exhibited front and back and we will examine the artists' use of words as well as historical exhibition labels on their backs.
“See Their World”, the final digitizing of 16mm 1930’s travel films by artist George L.K. Morris are able to be viewed. France, Belgium, Holland, Korea and Japan are featured. Click Continue Reading below for more events and dates.

 

 June-August, Painting Demos every Friday at 11am with professional artists. Free with admission.                         Shades of Gris-July 15th @ 3pm with Emily Braun, leading art historian and curator of the Leonard Lauder Cubist Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She will reveal the stories the historic labels tell us.                     

Berkshire county residents’ half-price tour program, Thursday 10 am tour. Library Pass Program-Participating local library card holders up to two passes per day to enable increased community access to the House & Studio.

Saturday, July 15th, 3 pm, "Shades of Gris", lecture by Emily Braun, leading art historian and curator of the Lauder Collection of Cubist art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art will use the five Gris masterpieces from the Collection and tell the stories that their historic labels tell us from the backs of the paintings. She will also address their hidden imagery and Gris' facination with the mystery pulp fiction of Fantomas.
